Basic Certificate in Psychodiagnostics (BAPD) NIP
The Basic Certificate in Psychodiagnostics NIP (BAPD NIP) guarantees that, as a graduate psychologist, you have a basic level of knowledge and experience in general psychodiagnostics. The BAPD NIP is a quality mark awarded by the NIP.
What does the BAPD NIP entail?
The BAPD NIP is a statement that you, as a psychologist (in training), have basic knowledge and skills in the field of general psychodiagnostics. The BAPD NIP realises and guarantees:
- A minimum level of knowledge and skills in the field of general psychodiagnostics.
- A generally accepted framework for assessing the level of knowledge and skills in the field of general psychodiagnostics.
- Attention to psychodiagnostics during university studies in psychology and in various professional fields.
The BAPD NIP is a good basis for the psychodiagnostics component of the post-master’s programme in health psychology. The BAPD NIP is not a mandatory admission requirement for this programme. Employers value the BAPD NIP as a quality mark for psychodiagnostics.
How can you obtain the BAPD NIP?
There are three ways to obtain the BAPD NIP:
- during your psychology studies at university
- by following an individual programme after your studies or
- automatically, if you already have a higher registration.
1. University
During your university psychology programme, you can obtain the BAPD NIP in almost all fields of study. The requirements for obtaining the BAPD NIP are listed in the study guide. If you have any further questions, please contact the relevant person at your university.
If you have a question about the NVO diagnostics annotation, please contact the relevant persons at the pedagogy programmes or the NVO.
2. Individual programme
The Open University’s BAPD Assessment Committee has been mandated by the NIP to award the BAPD NIP to psychology graduates. The criteria set out in the BAPD NIP regulations (2020) are followed in this process.
If you have any questions about obtaining the BAPD NIP via the individual pathway after completing your studies at the Open University (OU), please contact the OU study advisers: studieadvies.psychologie@ou.nl.
3. Automatically, via a higher registration
The BAPD NIP is awarded immediately if you have one or more of the following registrations:
- Healthcare psychologist BIG
- Clinical (neuro)psychologist BIG
- Child & Youth Psychologist NIP
- Child & Youth Psychologist SKJ at post-master’s level
Would you like to receive the BAPD NIP certificate? Please email your request with your name and address details, date of birth and proof of higher registration to registraties@nip.nl.
