Webinar Getting into the Dutch system as a Psychologist
This webinar is specifically tailored to inform international psychology students and professionals about various aspects of advancing their careers and answer any questions they might have about practicing in the field of psychology in the Netherlands.
During this event, our speakers Renske Jonker, Selin Ozuslu and Katja Feilerwill address several key topics, including the importance of learning Dutch and the various courses and advancements that knowledge of the Dutch language can facilitate, thereby opening doors for your future career. Additionally, the discussion will focus on different career paths and opportunities within the field of psychology, as well as the various certifications, their requirements, and their significance in the Netherlands. The webinar will conclude with a Q&A session, providing an opportunity for participants to ask questions and interact with the speakers.

About the speakers
Renske Jonker
My name is Renske Jonker. I am a 27 years old Dutch psychologist working in the clinical field. I do CBT, diagnostics and intakes 4 days a week at Synaeda in Heerenveen. I finished my masters in Groningen 2 years ago and have just started the ‘GZ opleiding’. (Don’t worry if you are not familiair with this yet, I will tell more about the titles during the event, so make sure to register!) I am an active member at NIP, to advocate the right circumstances for (especially starting) psychologist. The field is often perceived as somewhat unclear and challenging, I would like to help you out and explain a bit of the Dutch system.
Selin Ozuslu
I’m Selin Ozuslu, a Child and Adolescent Psychologist, and I’ve been living in the Netherlands for the past 6 years. Over the past 2 years, I’ve worked as a behavioural therapist with children on the autism spectrum. Currently, I’m applying for PhD projects, volunteering, and helping new psychologists find their way in the field. As an international psychologist in the Netherlands, I know how challenging it can be to navigate this career path, especially in a new country. That’s why I’m excited to share my experiences, insights, and the information I’ve gathered with you in an upcoming webinar and to help out anyone that has many questions about this process, so make sure to register and get all your questions answered!
Katja Feiler
M
y name is Katja Feiler, and I am a GZ-psychologist. I work at G-kracht and BuurtzorgT, two vastly different work settings. At G-kracht, I am self-employed and offer both individual and group therapy for people with personality disorders, recurrent anxiety, or depression. At BuurtzorgT, I provide home treatments, which means I’m often cycling (no matter the weather) to visit people across the Leidschendam/The Hague area.
Before this, I worked with expats, treating people primarily in English and German. As an international myself, I understand the challenges of navigating the Dutch mental healthcare system (GGZ). I look forward to meeting you on October 17th, discussing any questions or concerns you may have and sharing my experiences.
